Happy New Year and To Do List Update!

With every New Year comes  new beginnings, new opportunities, and new resolutions.

In 2012 there are a few things I want to do or change in my life. I guess you could call them resolutions, but I think of them as just one more step in continuing to become the person I want to be.

The first change, I want to eat a diet consisting of all natural, whole, and DELICIOUS food! I'm sick of artificial "diet" foods filled with fake food, chemicals, and sub par flavor! So this year I'll be cooking more with fresh seasonal ingredients from my garden and the farmers market. I also want to eventually transition to locally grown meats. I already buy a local cow or 1/2 a cow, but want to raise my own chicken and possibly rabbit. Although those will be slow changes over the next year or several years.

The second change, I want to continue to lose weight. 2011 saw me increase my running, change my eating habits, and lose and keep off 30+ Lbs. This year I want to lose even more weight, continue running, and enjoy a healthier life with my wonderful Hubby!!

The third change, I want to entertain more. We have a lovely home and I want to share it more with friends and family. I'm contemplating several different "party" ideas or themes or reasons for the upcoming year. If nothing else I may rock out an End of the World party on 12/12/12! In fact I want 2012 to be a much more social year spent with family, friends, and friends I consider family!

The last BIG change, I want to get pregnant this year. This is the first time I'm saying this publicly. I'm not in a rush (although I'm ALWAYS impatient), but this is something I've wanted for a while and I'm ready... Or as ready I'll ever be! Although, if its something that doesn't happen I'll live, but I'm looking forward to having an adorable mini me around!

And Now for an Updated To Do List!!

Cooking - Now I'd say I'm a pretty good cook, but that was using a variety of boxed short cuts, non healthy options, and some just plain weird (but delicious) stuff. I am learning a whole new way of cooking using  fresh, wholesome, and seasonal items. I'm also experimenting with new flavors and techniques.... We'll see how it goes as I learn and practice.

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! You're going to have a mini you!!! little baby shoe we can call it...SO exciting! (you should totally plan to have it while I'm home so I can throw you showers, enjoy baby as much as you, and get my baby fix haha). In all seriousness though, that's really exciting. :]

TEACH ME to knit! It's on my list of things to do soon and I'm not good at self-teaching. So get better at knitting and when I come home you can teach me and ten cross off teach others what you know ;]

  2. When will you be home? Are you doing a 5 year stint? I will totally let you throw me any sort of party you want... or it will be more fun if the baby is here before you get home so you can play with, snuggle with, and kiss all over it! :)

Right now I'm just knitting square(ish) wash cloths! .... I guess I could do a scarf it would just take longer.
